Mary Lockie Rhea Kilburn

Mary Lockie Rhea Kilburn, 95, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2024, at NHC Healthcare of Johnson City.Mary was born in Clinchco, VA on Ramsey Ridge on April 1, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Daniel Augusta and Hannah Blair Ramsey.Mary was a homemaker and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church in Kingsport for many years, where she was a member of the Choir. She was also a member of the Kingsport VFW Ladies Auxillary. Mary was a committed Christian, and a loving, beautiful lady.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ulysses Rhea, her second husband, Lester Kilburn, an infant son, her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Roy Rector, nine sisters, and two brothers.Mary is survived by a son, Donald Edward Rhea, Kingsport; grandson, Tim Qualls and wife Brandy, Aubrey, TX; two great-granddaughters, Erika Releford, Mt. Carmel, and Heather Qualls, San Antonio, TX; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 7:00 P.M., from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Baker, officiating.There will be a visitation period Wednesday prior to the service from 5:30-7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.The graveside committal service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Garden of the Apostles in East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. Those planning to attend are to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 A.M.
